Lonnie Morris is the founder and director of New Jersey’s first out of hospital childbearing facility – The Childbirth Center, P.A.. She is a Doctorate of Nursing who practices as a Certified Nurse Midwife who has delivered over 4000 women herself and supervised another nearly 5000 deliveries. In her roles as a C.N.M., Birth Center Director, and Director of Midwifery at Pascack Valley Hospital she has been a highly vocal advocate of normalizing birth for all women. She is now proud to be practicing in Fort Lee and aligning her services with Palisades Medical Center and in alliance with respected physicians, Dr. Mark Brescia, Dr. Thomas Miggliacio and Dr. Andrew Garber.
Lonnie is on the faculty of Columbia University, The University of Dentistry and Medicine of New Jersey, Case Western Reserve University, University of Pennsylvania and Yale University. She has served in various capacities on the Boards of the National Association of Childbearing Centers (now the American Association of Birth Centers) and the American College of Nurse Midwives. She is currently the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the ACNM.
Lonnie is now delivering second and in some cases third generations of babies for New Jersey families and is loved my women who have received treatment, . She is active throughout the area promoting women's healthcare issues and is often sought after as a speaker and panel member when important women's health topics are discussed.
